Fall Wedding Planning Ideas, Part I

Fall is a beautiful time to get married. The not-too-cold and not-too-hot weather and the red, yellow, and orange leaves are just two of the many reasons why. If you're planning a wedding for this coming fall, but you don't have every detail worked out yet, we're here to help! Take a look at these wedding planning ideas before you exchange those matching wedding bands.

Wedding Favors

Here's another great thing about having your wedding in the fall-- all the fall-themed wedding favors! If you're using pine cones as a decorative accent in your wedding, you might want to consider handing out these adorable pine cone candles as a favor. Other good ideas include these cute leaf-shaped soaps and this leaf wine stopper.

If you're more of a DIY person, here are some great projects for fall DIY wedding favors. If you want to make an edible wedding favor, try wrapping a seasonal fruit in a custom printed tissue. Or, you could always stick to an autumn classic: caramel apples! If you want something non-food-related, check out how to make a simple candle a charming wedding favor.

Cakes

Capture the elegance of autumn by incorporating fall colors or leaf accents into your cake. For example, this cake with yellow and orange rose accents and this cake with fall leaves seem to capture the essence of autumn perfectly.

If you want to your cake to be a little more subdued, try something like this ombre cake. It uses hints of orange to subtly complement the season.

Food

Since you don't have to worry as much about matching food to temperatures (i.e. serving hot food in the winter and cold food in the summer), try to incorporate seasonal foods. For example, use apples, pears, squash, figs, and pumpkins in creative ways. To see what the food trends are for weddings this fall, check out this video from the Huffington Post for some ideas.
